Sinus Lift Augmentation
A sinus lift augmentation, also known as a sinus augmentation or a sinus lift, is a surgical procedure used to raise the floor of the sinus cavity in order to make more room for dental implants. It is performed when the sinuses are too close to the jawbone for dental implants to be placed.
During the procedure, bone graft material is used to add extra bone, and the sinus membrane is lifted upward to create a larger space for the implant.
Implant Site Development
Implant site development through the use of bone grafting at the time of implant placement is a procedure that strengthens the bone in the jaw to provide a better foundation for the implant. Bone grafting may be necessary if the jawbone is too soft or too thin to support the implant. It can also be used to fill in any gaps or defects in the jawbone.
Bone grafting is done by placing bone graft material into the jawbone. This material can come from a variety of sources, such as the patient’s own bone, donated bone, or a synthetic material. The bone graft material helps stimulate the growth of new bone, which will be stronger and provide a more secure base for the implant.
Surgical Guides
A dental surgical guide is a 3D-printed device used by Dr. Lovda to accurately and precisely guide Dr. Lovda when placing dental implants. This guide is designed using CEREC® technology and printed out of a biocompatible material to accurately place dental implants.
